What in the world, you may ask, does a seer, donkeys, and a king have to do with single life---besides the carnal synonym? I'm so glad that you asked, because my brother-in-law Chris (a local minister of the gospel heavily involved in ACTS and Prison Ministries) shared it with me just the other day and the more I have contemplated his connection, the more I have come to realize that these words (in their adjective forms) very much apply to single life.
"By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion. We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof. For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth; saying, sing unto us one of the songs of Zion. How shall we sing the Lord's song in a strange land?" Psalm 137:1-4
Single Heart Songs is a ministry intended to encourage Christian Adult Singles, Widows, & Divorcees possessing a desire to grow spiritually & emotionally while embracing the single life. Few of us actually chose this 'strange land' but by faith we can still sing of God's grace as we travel through it. Here are a few songs the Lord has given me along my own journey:
